Just Like Her Daddy

It is a well-known fact that Chris is the cook in our family. Every Saturday morning, he fills our home with the sweet smell of pancakes, waffles, eggs, cinnamon rolls, or toast as Sofia and I play (or sleep) in the background. It is such a delightful way to begin the weekend! Well, this past weekend, Sofia decided enough was enough - no more sideline watching for her! It was time to be part of the cooking action! She, and we, had a blast. She is clearly a natural and hardly spilled at all. I think we may have a new Saturday morning tradition on our hands!

She even helped me make spaghetti last Friday night. She helped put the noodles in the boiling water. She hold her hand above the steam and says, "hot! hot!", with a firm "t" at the end. She also helped with the sauce by adding some basil and oregano. She really wanted to help with the salt and pepper grinders, but that was a little too much coordination over a hot stove...

How good to know that pancakes are getting made "by hand" in the traditional way. Can you get her to stir LIGHTLY? She is so cute and intent on her job.

Please, no jumping on Daddio's tummy aFTER EATING.

What a cutie-patootie! Certainly Pillsbury should be contacted to use her pics in their advertisements! :)
I'm excited for her to visit Grandma and Grandpa and cook dinner for all of us----would Christmas be too soon???
