Day 171: 4 Mile Brainstorm

I've been feeling awfully anxious lately about heading back to the classroom. Millions of questions have been swirling around my brain about procedures, lesson ideas, room set-up...you name it, I've thought about it. But today, much of that anxiety was quelled thanks to my dear friend, Dawn. After ordering some iced chai teas, we headed over to Wash Park for a 4 mile walk around it's ridiculously picturesque perimeter. We walked, talked, and brainstormed like crazy.

And it was just what I needed.

I am so grateful that Dawn understands my need to process verbally and that she acknowledged my feelings instead of just saying "you'll be fine, don't worry". Being a teacher is both exhilarating and scary at the same time. I am thankful that Dawn gets that and gets me. :)

THANK YOU Meg!! It felt so good to discuss something productive rather than my Babies R Us list and the Kardashians (which is what my entire summer has consisted of). I am happy to have you back by my side in the classroom. Today was a GREAT day!! I'm looking forward to Thursday.

P.S. Thanks for the Grayson Goodies. They are all washed, dried, folded and in drawers!! Shocking I know. I love you!!!

Though you will be amazing I understand the need to process. I'm already having anxiety dreams about my new position and I'm just switching curriculum and content. I feel a small percentage of your pain and wish my mom was as understanding as Dawn. Any chance Dawn is moving to London next week? Keep breathing and somehow it all works out! -Courtney
